What happens next?

Is the body to be identified prior to cremation?
Yes, positive identification of the body is required before cremation can occur either in person or online by photograph, however, the family has the right to waive positive identification if they do not deem it necessary.
How long does the cremation take?
Cremation generally occurs within one week after all documents and state approvals are received. These time frames may vary based on local coroner, medical examiner and doctors a availability to sign the necessary documents to complete the cremation, but your cremation advisor will be in touch with you throughout the process to keep you informed.
How is the body prepared for cremation?
Minimal preparation and sanitary care is done and the body is placed in refrigeration.
In what container will my loved one be cremated?
We provide a container, which is included in the cremation plan charge.
Is the body embalmed?
Embalming is not required by law.
How are the cremated remains returned?
Once cremation is complete, we’ll gather your loved one’s remains, place them in the special urn you have chosen, and ship them to you. You may choose to take possession of your loved one's cremains at our facility or have them shipped to you. Shipping within the U.S. is tracked at all times via United States Postal Service. You will be notified when your urn has shipped, and a signature will be required upon delivery.
How do I know I’m getting the right cremated remains?
Our cremation process guarantees that your loved one is well cared for at all times and that the cremated remains returned to you are those of your loved one. Each step will help answer any questions you may have about our cremation process, and the commitment we have to every family we serve.
- Step 1: Safeguarding personal identity. A personal identification band, to ensure security, is placed on your loved one at the moment your loved one is transferred to our care. Personal belongings are placed in a secure area for their return to the family.
- Step 2: Unique tracking system. Your loved one is logged into our tracking system and assigned an identification number. This number is used to track every phase of the cremation process. Our tracking system includes date and time of arrival at our facility and name of the funeral director.
- Step 3: Family identification. Family identification is available prior to cremation if desired.
- Step 4: Checks and balances. All cremation paperwork and permits are reviewed. This is to ensure authorizations and permits have been received and have been properly documented. The cremation process will not begin until all documentation is verified.
- Step 5: Details after the cremation. After the cremation is complete, every effort is made to retrieve all recoverable remains. The cremated remains are then processed and placed into a container of your choice and arrangements are made for the return of your loved ones cremated remains.
What can be done with cremated remains?
There are many options to choose from. Ashes can be returned to you to display in an urn of your choice. They can be scattered in a place with individual meaning or at local scattering garden. Ashes can also be placed in a cremation wall space or buried at a local cemetery for a resting place you can visit.
